The three largest providers of mental healthcare in the United States are jails. This is nothing short of a national disgrace. Mental healthcare is healthcare, and the issue goes far beyond the suicide and addiction crises we've lived with for the past two decades. We need to fight the social stigma associated with mental health care and addiction, and provide the urgently needed resources to get our veterans, our young people, our elderly and all of our citizens the help they need.
